How to use vinegar effectively: timing, amount, and delivery.
What the evidence says
- Timing: Before or with carbohydrate-containing meals[1],[2]
- Amount: `cvg03` used ”30 mL vinegar containing 6% acetic acid and 20 mL water”; `cvg02` dosed by acid content, ”Three levels of vinegar (18, 23 and 28 mmol acetic acid)” (corrected 2026-09-19 from ”approximately 15-30ml vinegar”: `cvg02` gives no volume)[2],[3]
- Type: not verified. That any vinegar with acetic acid works, acetic acid being the active component, is in no held text of `cvg02` or its published abstract, which tested graded acetic-acid doses of one vinegar (marked 2026-09-19)
- Delivery: in `cvg03` the vinegar was diluted in water (”30 mL vinegar containing 6% acetic acid and 20 mL water”). Salad dressing, sauces and pickled foods are this library’s suggestions, and studies typically used diluted vinegar is not in `cvg01`’s held text (re-pointed 2026-09-19)[2]
