Vinegar Limitations

What vinegar can’t do—keeping expectations realistic.

What the evidence says

  • Effects are modest — helpful, not transformative[1],[2]
  • *No benefit was detected when added to an already low-glycemic meal — in eight patients. `cvg04` split sixteen type 2 diabetics into two groups of eight; in the low-GI group the addition of vinegar ”did not affect”* the glucose area under the curve (229 ± 38 vs 238 ± 25 mmol·min/l). A failure to detect in eight people is not a demonstrated absence of benefit[2]
