Why we cite it
Provides the first comprehensive meta-analysis of social modeling of food intake — synthesizing 38 articles (67 independent effect sizes) to establish a large overall effect (r = .39), demonstrating that inhibitory models suppress intake more powerfully than augmenting models facilitate it, and systematically testing moderators including sex, age, confederate presence, eating context, and concern with eating appropriately.
