Why we cite it
The PREDICT 1 study extends Zeevi et al. 2015 (cgl01) by adding lipid and insulin responses alongside glucose, incorporating twin pairs to separate genetic from environmental factors, and demonstrating that even identical twins show substantial differences — proving that modifiable factors drive most of the variation. The quantification of variance explained by different factors (genetics, microbiome, meal composition, modifiable behaviors) provides a framework for understanding what matters most.
