Why we cite it
Tests the corpus's fuel-switch and protein-sparing account by blocking the growth hormone receptor directly, rather than inferring GH's role from GH-deficient patients or from somatostatin infusion — both of which, as the authors note, "may not adequately reflect the selective effects of GH." The result splits the account in two: **the lipolysis half is supported and the protein-sparing half is not, at this duration and this degree of blockade.** For a corpus that has been stating both halves together on nine reader-facing pages, from an unread review, that split is the contribution.
