21 C.F.R. § 101.9 — Nutrition labeling of food. Code of Federal Regulations, Title 21, Chapter I, Subchapter B, Part 101, Subpart A. U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Why we cite it
The U.S. regulation governing how trans fat content is declared on nutrition labels, including the rounding rules that allow “0g” labeling when a serving contains less than 0.5g, so a label can read zero while a serving still contains some; the ingredient list, which names partially hydrogenated oils, is the way to find it.
