Why we cite it
Short empirical paper (4 pages) providing the first factor-analytic evidence that boredom eating is a psychologically distinct construct from other forms of emotional eating. Revised the widely used Emotional Eating Scale (EES) to include a separate boredom dimension (REES-B). Reported boredom as the most frequently endorsed emotional eating trigger in this sample — ahead of anxiety, sadness and other negative emotions — arguing that treating all emotional eating as a single construct misses the unique nature of boredom-driven consumption.
