White CM, Pasupuleti V, Roman YM, Li Y, Hernandez AV. Oral turmeric/curcumin effects on inflammatory markers in chronic inflammatory diseases: A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials. Pharmacological Research. 2019;146:104280.
Why we cite it
Provides a methodologically careful meta-analysis showing that oral turmeric/curcumin did NOT significantly reduce major inflammatory markers in chronic inflammatory diseases. This is the load-bearing counterweight that keeps the corpus honest: it prevents companion 379 from asserting turmeric as an established anti-inflammatory, and justifies the hedged framing (ginger better supported than turmeric).
