Why we cite it

Provides the primary experimental evidence that alcohol stimulates appetite in a dose-dependent manner, with data on how much more people eat and what they choose. This is the sole citation backing 4 of 5 bullets in kal01 (alcohol and appetite). The within-subjects crossover design with measured food intake (not just self-report) gives strong internal validity for the appetitive effect of alcohol.
