Why we cite it

Provides the critical caveat that mouse fasting studies do not directly translate to human fasting: mice are nocturnal, have higher metabolic rates, and consume two-thirds of food during the dark phase. This matters because many fasting claims in the corpus originate from or are supported by animal-model data, and this review establishes the interpretive boundary.
