Why we cite it

Provides the neuroscience framework for deliberately building positive neural pathways to counter the brain’s negativity bias. The HEAL process (Have, Enrich, Absorb, Link) offers a concrete, evidence-based technique for converting fleeting positive experiences into lasting neural structure. Relevant to stress-proof eating because it explains why negative food experiences (guilt, shame, failure) stick more readily than positive ones, and provides a method for rebalancing.
