About the author
Ryan Holiday is an American author, media strategist, and bookstore owner. He dropped out of college at 19 to apprentice under Robert Greene. He worked as director of marketing at American Apparel and founded Brass Check, a creative agency advising clients including Google and bestselling authors. His Stoic philosophy books — including *The Obstacle Is the Way* (2014), *Ego Is the Enemy* (2016), *The Daily Stoic* (2016), and *Stillness Is the Key* (2019, #1 NYT bestseller) — appear in 40+ languages and have sold over 5 million copies. He also created the Daily Stoic website and newsletter. He lives outside Austin, Texas, where he owns the Painted Porch Bookshop.
