Why we cite it
The revised edition of the foundational MBSR text, updated with two decades of additional research on mindfulness outcomes. Relevant to this project specifically for its treatment of stress reactivity — how mindfulness creates a gap between stimulus and response, enabling conscious choice rather than automatic reaction. This mechanism directly connects to emotional eating, where stress triggers habitual food-seeking behavior.
