Book
Albers S. Eat Q: Unlock the Weight-Loss Power of Emotional Intelligence. New York: HarperOne; 2013.
Why we cite it
Extends the mindful eating framework from Albers’ earlier work (cme02) by applying emotional intelligence to eating behavior, arguing that EI skills — impulse control, stress management, empathy, optimism — are more effective for weight management than calorie counting or willpower. Directly relevant to the project because it provides a psychological skill set for addressing emotional eating, complementing the mindfulness approach with a broader emotional regulation framework.
