Book
Kondo M. The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing. Berkeley: Ten Speed Press; 2014. 256 p.
Why we cite it
Provides a structured decluttering framework (the KonMari Method) that companions apply by analogy to food environments. The principle of keeping only what "sparks joy" parallels the project's guidance on simplifying pantries and reducing decision fatigue around food. The method's emphasis on tidying by category rather than location, and on choosing what to keep rather than what to eliminate, offers a psychologically distinct approach relevant to dietary simplification.
