About the author
Gyorgy Scrinis, PhD is Associate Professor of Food Politics and Policy at the University of Melbourne. He coined the term "nutritionism" in a 2002 essay in *Meanjin* (vol. 61, no. 4), later popularized by Michael Pollan in *In Defense of Food* (cfr01). His research focuses on food politics, food systems, and the critique of reductionist nutrition science.
