About the author
Marion Nestle, PhD (molecular biology, UC Berkeley), MPH (public health nutrition, UC Berkeley) is Paulette Goddard Professor of Nutrition, Food Studies, and Public Health, Emerita, at New York University, where she chaired the department from 1988 to 2003. She served as senior nutrition policy advisor at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and edited the 1988 Surgeon General's Report on Nutrition and Health. She is the author of sixteen books on food policy and nutrition and a recipient of the James Beard Foundation Leadership Award (2013) and the Edinburgh Medal (2023).
