About the author
Pamela Peeke, MD, MPH, FACP, FACSM, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and a Fellow of both the American College of Physicians and the American College of Sports Medicine. She earned her MPH from UC Berkeley and MD from Michigan State, and was a Pew Foundation Scholar in Nutrition and Metabolism at UC Davis. Former senior research fellow at the NIH, where her research focused on chronic stress, abdominal fat distribution, and overeating. Three-time New York Times bestselling author. Featured in the National Library of Medicine’s “Changing the Face of Medicine” exhibit. Co-author Mariska van Aalst is a health and science writer.
