Fairburn CG. Overcoming Binge Eating: The Proven Program to Learn Why You Binge and How You Can Stop. 2nd ed. New York: Guilford Press; 2013. 243 p.

Why we cite it

Provides an evidence-based, CBT-E-derived self-help programme for binge eating that was extensively tested in clinical trials (64.2% abstinence at 12 months vs. 44.6% treatment as usual). Relevant to this project because it explains the restrict-binge cycle — how rigid dietary rules set up inevitable failure — and provides the planned eating framework (3 meals + 2-3 snacks, no more than 4-hour gaps) that displaces both delayed eating and unstructured grazing.
